Sneak Peek: May I "Ch 31"

Since I'll be a little tied up for the next couple days....and I left that last chapter on a cliffhanger. My bad :) But just so you know... I've been threatened to update or else :D This little sneak peek, doesn't give much--or tell why--but it's hopefully something to tie you along until after the New Year.

May I: Drying Off

Cal was sitting on the couch, reading a book when he heard a door slam. Looking up from his place, he felt differently about that slam; recognized it as being the same sound Gillian produced when she was frustrated or worried.

So when he heard another slam—identical to the last—he had already placed his book on the coffee table and was looking out the window as she crossed the sidewalk and he was already at the door when she trailed up the stairs.

In the New Year!

Now that the holidays are mostly over, and as we prepare for the New Year . . . it's time to spend some time recovering. The shopping has been finished, presents have been wrapped, the cookies have been prepared, baked and received; Christmas dinner has been eaten and presents have been unwrapped.

Now it's time to enjoy the gifts that we have received, while remembering the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas each and every year. We'll write, sing, laugh, cry, have loved ones who die, go through trials, bring in life, get married, buy a house, etc--for another year.

And so, we go on.

In the New Year, we'll stay up until midnight to ring in the New Year. Some will be drinking cider--others alcohol--while others will be out partying with friends. But whatever you're doing to celebrate: remember to be safe. I hope to see you all in the New Year! :)
