May I: Sharpen Up the Knives

Cal was just pouring himself a cup of coffee when Emily came into the kitchen, still dressed in her pajamas. “I slept on the couch waiting for you last night. What time did you finally get home?”

He looked at his watch and mentally counted, “Not until late. What time did you get home from that shopping trip last night?”

May I: The Other Side of the Door

Two hours ago, he had carried her into the emergency room. She had let out that heartbreaking cry again when he had picked her up out of the seat.  His voice was gentle as he had soothed her; his fingers running through her hair. She began crying again, which made the minutes seem agonizingly long—despite a minute walk through the doors.

I'm Still Here: Finding Me

Opening her eyes she reacquainted herself with her surroundings; her head still resting against his shoulder as she looked down to check her watch. She had been asleep for almost thirty five minutes. Her eyes scanned the premise, then over to Larry who was holding a newspaper in his hands, reading adamantly.

I'm Still Here: Lost Without You

By the time she got to the airport, she was mentally ready to sit down. With an hour to spare she checked in, got her ticket, checked in her suitcase and headed towards her designated gate. Pulling her phone out as she walked, she heard the departure of a plane roaring over, and her finger hovered over the number two on her phone.

May I: Going Under

“Well that was definitely the better part of my day.” Eli offered, loosening his tie as he pushed open the door to the office. They walked past the receptionist desk; Ria’s heels, clicked against the tile.

Putting her phone back to her ear, she pushed a couple buttons and then put it back to her side; disbelief on her expression. “Yeah, well we may have been one of the best couples on that dance floor—in order to get a baseline read on Donavon, but neither Lightman nor Foster are answering their phones right now.”

May I: Anything But Sweetness

Eli and Ria had stepped into a rather large looking room; golden walls and ceiling; a large, but beautiful chandelier hung above in the middle, casting light fragments and making it appear as if they had just stepped into a palace-like-setting.

If I Haven't Yet Lost My Mind

  • Planning for Nanowrimo
  • Writing 'May I'
  • Writing prompts
  • Writing poetry
  • Keeping up a writing blog
So on and so on...

I tend to switch off between the five of these. Mostly try to keep the writing blog updated w/ blogs that will be posted at a scheduled time. I haven't quite learned how to juggle everything yet, so bear with me.

I'm Still Here: Conclusions

When she had finally got home, she unwrapped her scarf and closed the door. Her hand went over the light on the stand. As she turned the knob the room lit up, she exhaled seeing the suitcase that she had placed there earlier that morning. Shaking her coat off, she placed her coat in the closet and walked up the stairs. It was already well past midnight now and she was well past exhausted.

I'm Still Here: Just a Thought

While I continue working on my Lie To Me story, instead of not updating the blog at all, I wanted to introduce my Numb3rs story. I began writing this story about three years ago and remember being so very passionate--and adoring the character of Megan Reeves.

So enjoy!

May I: Beautiful Disaster

After lunch, he dropped Emily back at her car— knowing that even though there was a pile of work and a couple of cases that needed his attention, but even he knew that wasn’t going to happen until he had made sure that Gillian was okay.

May I: What It Is

“Tell me again why we’re the ones doing this?” Eli asked Ria as they walked along the side of a ride bricked building. It was nearly ten thirty and Ria was dressed in a shiny purple dress; Eli in black slacks and a white dress shirt.

Ria shrugged, rolling her eyes over to him. “Lightman said something about old acquaintances—and not to interrupt.”

May I Ten Fold

When she woke up the next day, Gillian realized that the sun was already coming through the blinds of her office window. She checked her watch and realized that it was almost eight o’clock in the morning.

May I: Willpower

“I’m Jonathon” Introducing himself, he took another drink from his glass. “What happened to your arm?” Pointing towards the sling, he drained the rest of the liquid and set his glass down with a gentle thud.

Gillian touched her hand lightly to her face. She decided to give him the light version. “Work accident.”

Doing It In Style: Details of Nanowrimo

  • Main characters
I have my main characters ready to go, which basically outlines the story. I don't really have a whole story in mind yet--and I'm pretty sure that I won't, until we can start writing in November.
  • Sub characters
Going to keep adding to the sub characters as much as possible. Might not use all of them, but at least there will be plenty of choices to choose from--as well as when you have character details.

  • Character details
  • Setting details

And that's all I have right now.

May I: Sleep Redux

He ate that pudding cup, because for the first time since the attack he saw her genuinely smile. A part of him didn’t want to see that bright smile go away--nor the happiness that made her glow over the sadness that was still there in her heart.

May I: Dreams

She found herself running down a dark alley, kind of similar to the place she had been attacked. Except she was the one running down the alley after an unknown man, not the other way around. In fact, she knew that feeling that was in the pit of her stomach: it was the mother’s instinct kicking in fully when she saw Sophie peering over his shoulders wailing.

May I: Icing On the Cake

It was a good whole thirty minutes before Cal walked into the conference room.

She had seen him walk past earlier, but he hadn’t stopped there, but more to the side, just across from her office. She realized how curious he looked, and all she could do was shake her head and focus back on the task at hand.

May I: Contemplating the Line

So far to the point to the walls that defined him were both closed and open. His demeanor was focused, yet as he looked at her, the dams that kept in every emotion inside of him, broke open the instant he locked eyes on her.

Splitting the Focus

I admit that I haven't been the best at it-- but I'm currently splitting on my focus now writing poetry, fanfiction, and now working on coming up with an outline for Nanowrimo as well, come November. It's not the easiest thing though, not just focusing on one thing.

I'll take a long period of time on one thing and when I feel like moving on, or if there's some kind of emotional toll weighing down, I'll go back to poetry to give that emotional release and so on and so on. There are also times when I don't feel like writing at all, or have the blasted writer's block.

What about you? Do you split your focus when writing?

May I: Not Going Home

My second chapter to my Lie To Me fanfic, "May I".  This was an interesting chapter to write, and basically begins the iceberg that's slowly building up, for a number of different reasons that will follow.

Hope you all have a nice Labor Day weekend! Be safe and do something fun :)

May I: Taking It All In

Do I have any 'Lie to Me' fans out there? I started watching this show, maybe two or three years ago and this year I decided to attempt to write a story about Dr. Cal Lightman and  Dr. Gillian Foster (two of my favorite people!!). This story takes place after the episode, "Blinded" and Gillian has to deal with the aftermath of being attacked.

Now I'm always a little wary about sharing my work. I'm not sure how often I'll put one of these in. I might end up putting a bunch of different fanfic stories that I've been working on here, as 'May I' is currently a story in the works and won't be finished for awhile. If you haven't watched this episode and are a fan...don't read this story until after you've watched the episode. If you really don't care--read on.
