When Your Writing Takes a Detour (Some sentences and ramblings)

Life is full of so many things. Work, school, life in general--as well as a great number of things that could consume time. Mine is: we've had some family things going on that have worried me and kept me thinking, when I should be writing.

I only seem to write when inspired--which is often why I don't seem to give too many personal posts in one month, and somewhat why my posts have slowed down and have been put on the back burner.

Project X: Dandelion

Marie held out her hand to Robbie as she tried not to laugh, but her voice shook as she asked him. “Well, are you ready to go? We need to run a few errands and I’m sure that Alexx has things that she has to do today.”

“Do we have to?” Robbie asked with a bit of a whine in his voice, sitting against the wall with a sudden thump. He looked dazed as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand.

I don't know about you, but I tear up about a dozen times, whenever I watch the Lifetime show, Coming Home. It makes me so happy to see those who have been serving our country, be reunited with their families in so many ways--including with their animals. THANK YOU!!!

Oh, how I long for Summer. Although, I might eat my words when we're all sweating under the sun.

Some Sentences

I rewrote the first chapter of "The Life of Alexx Craig" today. This story is also a spin-off  of one of my stories called Project X. I'm not really sure why I started this story, because I've started a lot of other stories already. Crazy? I know that!

My first love is writing. My second is playing The Sims 2, which I have often referred to on this blog. Granted, I bring this up since "The Life of Alexx Craig" is in Sims 2 style.

I hope these daily inspirations help you. . . make you laugh when you need a smile, make you think, and most of all: I hope they give you the inspiration that you need each and every day! I know that they help me, especially since right now is kind of a mind-boggling, need a smile kind of week (or two).

May I: Little Lies

She was lying. He was lying. What were their lives becoming, other than a life full of lies? His thoughts and apparently hers were interrupted by a ringing phone—Gillian’s. She slipped away from the table, with that look that she knew he was lying.

Cal took a sip of water as he looked around the restaurant—anything to take his mind of who was calling her this late in the evening. He had pried into the video feed and scrutinized every detail of her leaving that day she slept into her office.

Nerdy

I feel progressive today--eating these babies while writing. I've written 600 words for Chapter Thirty Six of "May I". Came up with a title, from a song that I've been listening to. I have a general game plan for more of a second or third chapter (I haven't decided yet) for "The Life of Alexx Craig". Kind of a spin off from my story "Project X", as well as a completely random idea. Of course that usually happens when I'm playing the Sims 2...my other love.

You can usually see any upcoming storylines here for "The Life of Alexx Craig" and I've also started a page for this blog to keep up with any story updates. I can interact with more people, which is kind of nice--and better for visual people, like myself. The good thing that I've found out about both of these pages is that you don't have to have a Facebook account to see them. However, there is a bad side to not having one, and that would be that you won't be able to comment.

I'll still be updating (or at least having automatic posting) on twitter for the blog, but most all other updates or comments will be on those two pages. And now  I need to get back to writing; possibly eating some dinner and adding more pictures...I mean storyline ideas. A writer's work is never finished! :)

Middle of Me: Couch Potatoes

With his head resting against the pillow that was leaning up against the couch, Jess laid across the couch with Rory sleeping soundly beside him. Her body was meshed with his as her head rested in the nook of his shoulder.

The toffee colored couch had been the last thing they had unpacked in their new home. After spending half of the day moving in a few boxes, some opened and some that weren't were scattered among the light tan carpet.

May I: Thoughts

Walking into the kitchen, he watched as she nursed a hot cup of tea and looked out the window—choosing to sit beside her at the table. He gave her a look as if he were saying: I’d rather that you stayed.

“It was a private conversation.” Gillian took another sip of tea, clearly knowing what he was thinking. Cal looked rather uncomfortable, although he was trying not to show it. Her thoughts went back to her conversation with Emily, and she couldn’t help notice that her thoughts were reflecting his own.

Pretty Little Girl

Behind the poem: Saoirse Fitzgerald was eighteen months old when she died on December 13, 2011 of Neuroblastoma, Stage 4 Cancer. I wrote this tribute for her after a message her father sent me about his daughter loving to dance. I couldn't stop thinking about her and wrote this for her this morning.
