Are you an author who has to have music playing as you write? A specific music list for the story that you’re typing out on the computer?
If you raised your hand, I’ve raised mine right along with you. I can only find myself writing in silence for so long before I have to have some distraction in the background—whether it be the TV, or music.
I have both a ‘specific writing music list’ that is kind of out of date at the moment--will eventually need to be redone—as well as a list for the current story that I’m working on, “May I”.
My friend had the idea first about making a story playlist, and told me about it. Now, I’m just wondering: why didn’t I think of that? Instead, I decided that was an awesome idea, and adapted to it. My very own soundtrack “May I” was born and has been growing ever since.
Even though I’ve had a slight block with this story “May I”, I have reached the thirty plus chapter mark—so I’ve slowed down on it considerably. But often, I find the music that has been tuned pretty much to the inspiration of the story. So, I hope by sharing this list ... that it will be your writing inspiration.
